The Techniques

The technique may be described as a process of self-assessment or fault-finding (with oneself) that helps to do away with an oppressive environment surrounding him/her. If one is unable to make self-assessment then external means. *

(may help like holding a bead-string and holding a bead between thumb and the middle finger and concentrate on the oppressive thoughts ad allow the next bead to slip through and observe the state of mind after every bead. Just examine if any other thought is coming in. If yes, then dismiss it just telling yourself that it is not necessary.)

he person has to move from the sensory plane to psychological plane through reduction of conditions called bracketing of conditions.

B. The next state is epochy when the sadhak thinks over the oppressive thoughts and one reproduces the same condition in the mind which tries to analyze the same. It is a process where a transformation from concrete to abstract takes place i.e.conditions are material facts related to objects.Mind reflects over objects/ persons and is grossly involved with them as possessing or not possessing. At this stage the question of propriety seems to carry meaning. It is this meaning that is the whole problem. Through analysis one can get rid of this problem by understanding that the question of propriety does not carry any weight; it is meaningless indeed because that condition is not crucial to life. One can live peacefully without that condition It is required that you decrease the level of stress on the mind, which is possible. Subsequently the transformation starts and gradually the question of propriety loses significance. One gains detachment from the object and the moment that happens the person gains the awareness level (control on himself), being aware of the powers of the Manomaya Kosha- seat of higher understanding, intentionality. The experience of astral body can be possible at this stage for this is the wisdom level.
